I has a cold in my nose

I have a cold.  Other than the annoying nose running I feel fine.  The other day when I said I thought I was coming down with something, it went away for a day and a half and then came back as a runny nose.  When I went to bed last night, I thought for sure I was going to wake up numerous times during the night... nope.  Not once.
Btw, show of hands, who loves NyQuil?  I love the stuff!  It is amazing.
Anywho...
Saturday is all set for Daughters Birthday celebration.  We are taking her and some of her friends to Skyhigh (a trampoline place for those that don't know), so that they can jump around for 2 hours.  After that, we will take a few select friends to the mall and feed them and let them roam for a bit.  She is very happy with what we are doing and actually helped quite a bit in deciding what to do.  Initially we were going to take them all to see a movie, but yeah... apparently she doesn't want to see Warm Bodies.  Hehehe.  That is clickable if you would like to see the trailer.  I thought it looked like a good "I am now a teen" movie, but I guess not.
Anywho, we got her a few plain shirts with some fabric markers as she has been asking for them for awhile.  We are also going to get her some yellow tennis shoes.  I am not 100% sure why she wants yellow, but that is what she asked for. We aren't sure yet what else to get her, but figured that we would give her some spending money for when they are wandering the mall.
We are having the family celebration Friday night with family so she gets that separate then the celebration with her friends.  I think it will work out well.
I have not finished Pikachu!.  The weekend was not the bestest, as the hubby and I were in disagreement (arguing) the majority of it.  I didn't work on my stitching at all.  Not happy about that, but not much I can do now.  I will be working on Pikachu! tonight though, so hopefully he will be a finish asap!  Then on to Mario.  YEAH!  (Hubby and I have made up btw).
I am so very close to finishing page 9 of Ruh.  I only have a couple of colors left!  It is so interesting to me that as I work on him I don't see the detail, but when I take a picture and look at it, I can see it all.  I love how much detail he has and the colors used in getting there.  Just amazing.  Michele and crew do great work over at HAED!  Hopefully the next update I have of him will be a finish of page 9!

Happy Stitching!

Update on Pikachu! and other stuff.

I am so close to a finish on Pikachu! it is not even funny.
Isn't he the cutest?  I have his cheeks, a bit of his ears, tail and his eyes to do and that is it.  Sorry the pic is so dark, I took it last night in the car with my phone while waiting for my bunches to get off of work. I am hoping to finish him up this weekend and possibly even make him into a magnet as well.  It will be my first time doing anything like it, so I am hoping I don't screw it up completely.  I am loving Pikachu! and don't want anything bad to happen to him.
Ruh is coming along nicely.  I am hoping that I will finish page 9 soon.  It is so close!  I might have to take him home next weekend... wait not that weekend.  Maybe the one after that if he isn't done.
So next weekend will be Dear Daughters 13th Birthday!  I have to get everything together this weekend so she can invite everyone on Monday.  I worked with my good co-worker to get some ideas.  Need to pass them by my bunches and daughter and then we are good to go!  I am really looking forward to it.  I hope she has the bestest birthday.
Currently I feel like I am coming down with something, (cold), and I am drinking my tea like crazy trying to push some extra antibiotics into my system.  I felt horrid last night and went to bed right after daughter.  (Not normal for me).  Woke up this morning feeling a little better, but as the day goes by... well it's not good.
I would love to finish up Pikachu (magnet and all) and start putting some color into Mario.  We shall see.
Bad co-worker is being a horrid person lately and I have sent yet another email to my boss complaining about her.  I was so close yesterday to saying something to her, but I didn't.  I like my job and don't want to lose it over her petty attitude.  I will rise above, I hope...
What else?  hmmm
So you know how I mentioned that I wanted a chart that Randal Spangler was doing specifically for HAED?  Well, it came out Wednesday after I had already given my choices for my winnings to the wonderful lady that was collecting the info from the winners.  So I get an email from her asking me if I had seen that the chart had been released?  That I could delete one of the charts I got and they could send me this one because she knew I wanted it.  I told her that I didn't want to do that, as it was hard to decide which ones to get, trying to decide which to delete would be just as bad.  I figured since they are having a sale right now (35% off!) that I would just purchase it when I got home tonight.  (I don't like purchasing them at work, because I can't download them and look at the pretty charts here).  So do you know what she did?  She RAK'ed me the chart!  So I have to wait until I get home to download it, but it's mine!!!  Oh, if you don't know what it is then, here:
Isn't it adorable?  I love it!  Thank you so much for the chart!!!!!!!!!
I think that is it for day.
Have a great day, and a wonderful weekend!

A few wrinkles never hurt any thing

Well, I have made my choices on which charts I wanted and I already have them!  QS Yes Piggy was #1 on my list.  I can not help but smile each and every time I see him.  I know he will be a joy to stitch.  My second choice was mini Tea Bath.  I have had it on my wish list for so long, I was glad to go and remove it as I now own it!  My bigger charts took a bit of questioning/deciding and I needed help.  With your help and my hubby's help, I decided on The Starry Starry Night and Purrfect Harmony.  I am looking forward to ogling them and going over each inch to see the detail involved.
I am a huge lover of HAED's and almost all of my stitching is from there.
So, as I had to take a picture of Ruh (Unleashed) for the BB 2013 goals, here he is in all his splendor:
Sorry for the wrinkles but I ended up taking it at work and only removing 2 sides of the Qsnap.  You can see that I am very close to a page 9 finish.  He is looking most handsome don't you think?
So today I took off of work to stay home with dear daughter as her school had a staff day today.  Hubby has school/work today.  So I was able to catch up on all of my blog reading.. whew!  That took quite a while, but I did it!  I am upset that I missed the Grow Your Blog event.  Although I am going to try to make an effort and start going through the list of 400 blogs (wow) and see what I can find.  I love reading every one's joys and tribulations with their crafty stuff.
Not much else is going on right now, back to work tomorrow...  Wish I could win the lottery!  Then I could stitch and stitch and stitch!
Anywho, it's off to go stitch now.  I think Pikachu! is calling me...

Thank you to all who stop by to read my blog and take the time to leave a comment.  I try to answer each and every one, even if it takes me a few days.  I love coming here and getting inspired and motivated. :)

Updates and voting

Isn't he cute?  He is almost all yellow now, I did more on him last night but I took this pic before that.  This color yellow should be complete tonight and then onto the other colors, which there aren't many of.  After I finish him, I will work on Mario.  He is still looking good as well, all outlined.  Well here:
There he is.  I realized last night that I don't have all of my thread with me to get him anywhere near finished.  So I am going to update my travel stitching this weekend so that I have his colors.  I am looking forward to working on him soon.  He's such a handsome fellow.
So if you are on the HAED BB (Heaven and Earth Designs Bulletin board) they have a thread each year where you put in your goals for the year that are HAED related.  If you reach your goals for the year, you are put into a drawing to win charts.  I won!  I got second place.  So, I get 2 large and 2 small charts for free.  I already know what one of them is Yes Piggy by Marta Dahlig.  I asked for the QS of the pig and it was just done a couple of days ago.  OMG he is so adorable!  There is another one I am wanting, but it hasn't been charted yet, but is is a design by Randall Spangler and it was done specifically for HAED.  It is amazing and I would love for it to be one of the ones I get.  I have a small amount of time to choose, so I am really hoping it gets charted before I have to send in my picks.  My other small that I am going to get is Mini Tea Bath by Renee Biertempfel.  For my large I am torn.  Let me know what you think. Okay, so here we go:
Lady Godiva by John Maler Collier
O Kitten Tree by Randal Spangler
Purrfect Harmony by Randal Spangler
Superstitions by James Christensen
Starry Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh
So, let me know.  Please pick 2 just in case the one I am hoping for doesn't get charted.
I am taking Unleashed home with me this weekend so that I can take a picture of him for the HAED BB.  (I am setting my goals for 2013 on the board and I have to have a current picture of him).  I will update you all on how he is coming along when I take the picture.  I am still loving working on him.
Oh, and in case you didn't notice, I have added a tab at the top for my 2013 goals.  These include HAED's and others as well.  Including little Mario and Pikachu! up there.  LOL
I think that is it for now.  I have to go catch up on my blog reading, I think I am about a week behind... ouch!
Happy crafting all!

January TUSAL and Other Updates

If you don't know what the TUSAL is, check out the linky on the side ~~>
It isn't totally useless IMHO, but I get to make ornaments when the year is over so... yeah, I am a little biased.
Without further ado, here is my TUSAL for January, (sorry it is a couple days late).
Sorry the picture is a little funky.  I tried to take another one from over the top and it was horrid.  Anywho, this is from Unleashed, Mario and Pikachu!.  My hubby and I went to a hospice thrift shop and found this wonderful ORT jar for me.  It was a whopping $1.00 with 30% off.  I washed it up and pulled all of my ORT's together and plopped them in.  Tada!
I am making some lovely progress on Pikachu! and Mario.  They are both outlined in black and Pikachu is now about a quarter covered in yellow.  My daughter and hubby have decided that they should be magnets.  Although my hubby is thinking a key chain for Mario as he wants to put him on his backpack.
Speaking of, my hubby just finished his first semester at school and got straight A's!  Computer hardware, computer software and an english class (can't remember which one).  He starts his next classes next week.  He will have 3 classes again, forensics, another computer class and another english class.  I really can not remember the names of them.. sorry.  LOL
Our daughter decided, only a few short days after having her new phone, that it needed to take a bath.  Yeah... she doesn't have it right now as it isn't working very well under the circumstances.  It turns on, but makes a crackling sound.  If you try to call out it is fine, but you can't hear anything and when you talk the person can't hear you.  Tried texting and it goes out fine, but when the phone gets a text, it freaks the hell out.  Kinda scary.  So, we have it in rice and we are checking with our carrier to see what the warranty covers.  She is not the happiest person right now, but you know what?  She was careless and did it herself.  She has no one to blame but herself.  She was given the rules and guidelines.  If it isn't covered by warranty and the rice fix doesn't work, she gets a super crappy phone!  woohoo!  I know she will be so happy about that.
Hmm what else?  OH!  The saga of my co-worker.  So yesterday I am sitting here doing my job and minding my own business.  My good co-worker and bad co-worker are having a conversation and it goes something like this:
good - you know that you answered the customer incorrectly
bad - oh, i didn't look at the orders, i just assumed that the product wasn't available right now
good - well you know what happens when you assume...
bad - yeah, it makes Donna an Ass.
Excuse me??  Was I in your conversation?  No.  Did I snicker or make any comments whatsoever during this convo between the two of them?  No.  Had I even bit the smallest bit rude prior to this?  No.  It was early in the day.  My response to her btw was that I did not want to comment due to I like my job. She didn't talk to me the remainder of the day.  About an hour and a half later I sent a note to my boss stating what had happened.  Haven't heard anything back from him on it.
Am I being overly sensitive about this?  Should I have just laughed it off?  I keep thinking of what I would have said/done if good co-worker would have said this to me.  But then I think, "good co-worker wouldn't say that".
Meh, today is another day.

I am hoping to post a picture soon of Pikachu!
Until next time, later!  hehe

It's a meh kinda day

Sometimes, it just isn't worth chewing threw the restraints...

I have been a little tired, and not stitching at home in the evenings.  I have been stitching while waiting for my bunches to get off of work, which is great.  I have all of the black outline done on Pikachu! and I have almost all of the black outline done on Mario.  I am loving both of those and they are small enough that they will be quick finishes.  I am hoping that after I finish them, I can start another two and work on them together as well.

Literate dragon... wow.  Okay, so I have been watching everyone who has started him and omg the confetti looks intense.  The closest I have gotten to starting him?  Well, I printed the first page!  hahaha

Last year I was going to do Siberian Tiger, that didn't happen.  I am going to unpick all that I did on it and use that fabric for LD.  I think that is probably the best thing to do.

Unleashed is coming along nicely.  Page 9 is very close to being done.  I will post a picture of him soon.  His name is Ruh in case I haven't mentioned that before.  (My hubby named him).

I am still loving my new phone, and I am patiently waiting my case.  I am still getting used to everything that it does/can do.  I am amazed and everything that is out there!

Work has been interesting.  Ya'll remember my co-worker I don't like/don't get along with?  (And I am not sure if I mentioned it before, but thank you to all who commented in hopes that it would get better.)  I have been working with her for many years.  It has not gotten better and I'm afraid it is only getting worse.  I have tried to talk to her about it.  What happens?  Well, she either immediately makes it worse (she does whatever it is 100 times more than she was before) or she waits an unspecified amount of time and stabs me in the back.  I have tried going to higher people and, you can guess, it hasn't changed.  Most days I can block it out, some I can not.  Today seems to be one of the bad days that I can not block her out.  From the point that I walked in this morning to the time that she leaves...  AAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!  Okay, thanks for listening to me bitch and complain.  Sometimes it helps to just get it off my chest and I know that my hubby gets tired of hearing me complain about it.

Let's see what else is going on...  hmm.  Well it has been freezing here in sunny (ha!) California.  And tonight it is supposed to be in the mid 20's.  I know for everyone that lives in snow land, that isn't cold, but us Californians that is mighty cold!  We aren't used to that kind of cold.  We shiver at 70 degrees!  I personally like the cold, but I'm talking low 70's to high 60's.

Our beautiful daughter has her 13th birthday coming up!  Where does the time go?  She is wanting to do a movie, pizza and mall walk for her birthday.  So we will have about 10 girls that we will be moving from place to place to place.  It should be a fun time.  Her birthday is on a Friday, but we are probably going to do her "party" on Saturday.  I have to get with my awesome wonderful co-worker (the good one) and see what we can come up with for favors.  She is really good and doing them and I know she will have some great ideas.

Well I think that is it for right now.  I was going to add a silly picture, but for some reason when I update here at work, I can not add a picture.  Not sure what is up with that, but at home it seems to be working fine.
Oh, and that reminds me, my computer at home has been acting funny since last night when we got home.  Might have to have my super IT bunches do an overhaul on it...

Have a great rest of your day and happy crafting!

Monday, January 7, 2013

Huh

My test didn't work right so I think I am going to have my bunches look at it tonight and help me a bit.  He's the IT guy anyways!  LOL

Happy Stitching all.

Day 5 and Uh, yeah....

that isn't happening.

So here is Pikachu! as of day 3.
Doesn't he look cute?  I love it!

And yeah, I got my new phone.  (Pikachu! was taken with the new phone camera).  I have been playing with it ever since!  Still trying to figure out how to post directly from my phone to here, sooner or later I will figure it out.
I will start 15 new cross stitches, but apparently not within the first 15 days of January.  But the FB group wasn't too strict on starting 1 a day, so it will be 15 sometime within the first 2 months of 2013.  I am hopeful of this!

Today we have laundry to do and run around to a couple of stores.  Then it will be home again (without daughter) to hopefully (fingers crossed) get some stitching done!

I wish you all the bestest of the best!  Happy Stitching!

My Day 3 of the January Challenge Plus other stuff

I forgot to take a picture of Pikachu! last night so I will make sure to do that tonight.  He is looking rather good.  I got quite a bit done on him yesterday.
I am not sure what day 3 will be yet.  I did get the first page of the HAED 2013 SAL Literate Dragon and I am seriously thinking of giving him a go.  If not, then I'm not sure.  Guess I will make the decision up tonight when I get home and sit down to stitch!
Working only 3 days this week has made my days short and full.  However, today seems to be going very slowly.  I am finding myself wandering the internets for nothing in particular.  My brain is not currently in work mode...  I guess it should already be the weekend?  LOL
My migraine is gone, and for those of you who posted in hopes that it would go away soon, or that I would feel better, thank you!  I dispise migraines.  They run in my family, and one of my sisters suffers from them almost daily.  I am now keeping a log of what I eat and drink, plus how much I am drinking of water/tea/coffee.  We thought we had it down to cheese, but I have cut that out of my diet and am still getting the migraines.  Back to the drawing board.
My bunches has to go today and get the other half of his deep cleaning at the dentist...  I know he isn't happy about it, but at least now it will be done.  I am hoping that everything goes okay.  I get to go get a filling on Monday and I am not looking forward to it.  Of course, I really do not like the dentist, never have.
Tonight, (keeping my fingers crossed), we will get our new phones.  I am so looking forward to it, you have no idea.  Hopefully I won't want to play with it too much and I can get some stitching in, lol.  I didn't even think about that until now.
Well, have a great day everyone.  I promise I will post a pic tonight of Pikachu!

A repeat of day 2

Poor Pikachu! didn't stand a chance against my migraine from hell.  So, today is a repeat of yesterday.  I will hopefully have an update tonight to show you how he has come along.

Happy stitching all!

January Challenge Day 2 chart

Day 2 chart is:
He will also be a magnet or ornament when finished, along with Mario.
I will post my progress at the end of the day.

Happy stitching everyone!

January Challenge Day 1 Progress

It's a Mario!

Well, the outline and a bit of the innards anyways!  You can totally tell it's him, I mean who else looks like that?  lol

As it is almost 11:00 pm and I have to get up and be working at 5:00 am, I think this is all for the day/night.

Tomorrow is a new day, and a new chart!  Will Mario have a friend?

Night all!

Happy New Year! 2013

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope that this year brings joy, health, wisdom, wealth and love to you all.

As I have decided to join in on the Ultimate January Challenge on FB, here is my day 1 new start.
I have been asked from a few people on FB to provide the link to this chart and I have not yet found it in my searchings.  I would like to make sure that I can share it prior to doing so.  I do not want to have any issues with copyright.
Mario will be stitched on 14 count plastic canvas as he will become an ornament or a magnet when he is complete.  I will be posting my progress hopefully later today, but there are no guarantees.

I know I haven't posted since Christmas.  I received a Ipod, which I was wanting and also $100.00 to use how I want.  And of course that is going toward stash.  I have already used $20.00 of it at Joannes.  They have/had floss on sale 4 for $1.00.  I looked at all of the charts for my January challenge and I got all but 4 colors that I needed.  I also had a 15% off coupon to use with the sale, which worked wonderfully.

My dearest daughter received a nook hd tablet.  And as a family gift, we got an xbox.  My goodness my bunches and dearest daughter were most thrilled.

I will leave you now so that I can go play with Mario!  (I had to catch up on all of the blogs I follow before I could start him).

Here is to a year full of stitching goodness (or your preferred craft) to us all!
