December 9, 2015

Hola!  I think it's time for an update, what do you think?
I am working on page 22 of Ruh and enjoying the time with him.  I was out over Thanksgiving and was out sick Monday, so I didn't get stitching time in with him for a bit.  Plus I was taking naps at lunchtime at work, so there's that...
Anywho - Here he is:
I told you I hadn't worked on him much.
I need to get moving on my Giraffe at home.  I need to finish 2 pages by the end of the year if I want to make my goal on the HAED BB.  I am hoping that I can get it done.  I have not put more stitches into it yet.

I got new q-snap covers, this is one of them.  The other is at home on Gir.  I got them from Lindy Lou's Super Covers on Facebook.  Go check her out!
I am also addicted to needle minders now.  Here is my current stash, (missing some that I just bought and the ones I keep at home for stitching), that I have at work:
All but 1 of these I got from Gina's Unique Needleminders on Facebook.  Look her up, she does more than just needle minders!
My Jack had an issue with his head... it kept falling off.  So Gina sent me a replacement and I glued his head into his hand.  (Like in the movie).

Ha!  I love it so much!!
Anywho.  That is it for me today.
Happy stitching!

November 18, 2015

Today I finished page 21!  I am halfway done with Ruh!  I am thinking of the black that I am going to have to go back to and fill it, but it shouldn't be too bad.
Do you think it is looking good?

I also got my tattoo finished on Nov 7th.

I love it!  It is still peeling just a little, but it is almost healed up.  I am so happy with it.

Hubby had a birthday on Nov 8th.  I bought him a new graphics card for his birthday.  (Well he bought it but you know what I mean).

That's it for now.
Thanks for checking out my blog!

October 27, 2015

I am a horrid person.  No updates in how long?  August!!  How did that happen??
A few unstitchy things prior to stitchy things.
Hubby got a new job!!!  He is getting paid much better, doesn't have mandatory overtime, likes what he does, and the people he works for!  The commute is about the same, but there are no bridge tolls now, so that helps!  Plus, he carpools, so the commute isn't as bad since he has his buddies to talk to.  :)
Our 300C Chrysler is still in the shop.. they lost the key.  (We only have one).  So, we got a new car.  Hubby drove it to work the first day he had to drive carpool and the check engine light came on.  Yeah, we returned that after not even having it 2 weeks!!  We got another car and it's much better and has less miles on it.  For pretty much the same price.  Score!  He loves it and it drives wonderfully.
This past Saturday we took our daughter to go see Owl City in San Francisco.  She got the VIP ticket and got to meet him and get her picture taken with him.  She also got to tell him that he was a very big inspiration to her and that she loved his work.

In the 5th grade she was in the talent competition at school and sang his song "Fireflies" onstage in front of all of her peers and numerous parents.  She has loved Owl City for so long and I knew that I had to get her to meet him.  I am so glad that I did.  She had an amazing day.  "The best day of my life" is how she actually describes it.  It made me so happy that we could do this for her.  The pictures of Owl City were taken by me at the back of the venue.  She was right up against the stage!  I don't have the really good picture she took here, but it is amazing.  She was so close!!
The weekend before that, on Friday, we went to see Zac Brown.  I really like the band and it doesn't hurt that my hubby has a Zac Brown look about him either.
Hubby and I went with 2 of my girlfriends and we had a great time.
I went to MO for work for a week.  It was an interesting trip, but I was very happy when I got home.  I missed my family!
On to the stitching.
I haven't touched Giraffe for awhile, so there isn't any update on him.  I have however been working on Ruh and he is coming along nicely.  Page 21 is moving right along.
Isn't he handsome?  This is from last week, so a bit more is done now, but I forgot to take an updated picture today.
HAED's had an anniversary sale last week and I RAK'ed a couple of people.  I love making someones day!
And if you haven't seen, they are now on Instagram, (run by Michele's daughter).  Look for them at officialheavenandearthdesigns.
So many charts, so little time!!

That is all for today my friends!  Enjoy your craft time!

August 28, 2015

Today marks my 15 year anniversary at my job. I must say that I do enjoy my job. I like what I do and I like my boss too. Not a lot of people can say that.

DD is in the half-time show at her schools football game tonight.  She will be in full uniform and everything!  I am so proud of her.  She is a little nervous, but not bad.

HAED is having a sale!  Go check it out here.

I am in the midst of updating my wish list, I have a page here that has links to all of the goodies I want.  :)

Stitching hasn't been too exciting this week.  I only worked Saturday on Gir at home, and it wasn't for very long at all.  Ruh was worked on every day this week except for Wednesday.  He is coming along nicely.

A couple of other things are going on, but it would just be me complaining and I don't really want to do that right now...

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Happy Stitching!!

August 20, 2015

Good Morning!!  It's a good day so far here today.  I started work nice and early this morning, since M is out on vacation today and tomorrow.  A little extra OT on the paycheck is always nice.
Hubby had 62 hours of OT the last 2 weeks...  gives you an idea of how much I haven't been seeing him lately.  The other day he worked 6:00 am to 9:40 pm.  Eww!  He got home, slept for 5 hours and went back.  He is a wee bit tired right now and will be happy when he can sleep in.
DD has been registered for school, they don't start until the 25th.  She got her classes, which she is happy with.  We have to take her shopping for a few things, but we can take care of that this weekend.  She needs a new backpack, I think she wants a messenger bag, and a few clothes items.  Plus I need new socks!  HA!
I went and had an appointment with my new doctor.  She is very nice and I think I am going to like her.  I have been put on blood pressure medication, since my blood pressure was elevated.  It wasn't nearly as high when I had my appointment with her, but she wants to see what is going on.  I have to go back in 3 weeks for a blood test and then I see her again late September for a follow up.  My rash is basically gone, just need the spots where I broke open the skin from itching to heal and I should be good to go!  My doctor told me to start exercising, so I have starting using the elliptical we bought.  I forgot how much I love/hate that machine!  I have done each night this week.  The first 2 nights I did 10 minutes with a minute cool down.  Last night was 11 minutes with a minute cool down.  2 miles done last night.  Not bad in my opinion.
On to stitchy news!
Ruh is looking good.  Page 21 is coming along slowly.  I am almost done with the first color on the page.  Hopefully today or tomorrow I can finish it up and start the second color.
Gir is moving along nicely as well.  I haven't worked on it (her?) since Sunday since Monday and Tuesday were crazy and yesterday I was happy with NOT having a million things to do so just vegged after my workout and making dinner.  Here is Gir after Sundays stitching.
Gir update as of 8/16/15.
Isn't Gir coming along wonderfully?  I am a bit shocked my hubby hasn't told me he wants it, as his favorite color is orange!  LOL
I really do enjoy working on this one.  It is coming along rather quickly, compared to Ruh, and I like the feeling of quickness on it.
And just because, here is a picture of Oreo (the black & while kitty) and Angel slumbering in their beds.
Angel & Oreo snoozing.
That's it for today.  Happy Stitching everyone!

August 14, 2015 TUSAL and Update

What the heck is going on?  How has everyone's week gone?  Mine has been eh.
Got my rash going on, that's not good, but it is starting to clear up.
I have high blood pressure so I have a Dr. appt on Monday to see about that.
My hubby is working 12 1/2 hour days at work.  Leaving at 5 am and not getting home until about 8 pm.
We finally got our car back after having it in the shop for 2 1/2 months.  It's a long story, but I am happy we have it back.  Although I don't get to drive her anymore, and I have to drive the Honda now, I am just happy to have her back at home.  My hubby will enjoy driving her back and forth to work.
In stitchy news I got started on Gir at home, (SK Giraffe by Annya Kai on the HAED site if anyone is wondering).  I didn't work on it last night but plan to do some tonight and over the weekend.  I have a bit of orts at home, but not much at all so I will not be adding them into this months ort collection.
Here are my orts from last month.
I know I am a bit behind on my ort updates, but I have been changing them out each month.  Too see the TUSAL, go here.
I finished page 20 on Ruh and he is looking fabulous if I do say so myself.  Here is page 20 completed.
And here he is pages 1-20 completed.

Sorry for the wrinkles, but I don't iron at work, lol!

So there you have it.  I started on page 21 today and had to frog what I had worked on because I miss-counted.  Bah!  I hate it when I do that.  But here is page 21 ready for stitching.
I shall leave you now.
Have a great stitchy weekend!!

August 12, 2015

So I have been diagnosed with a rash.  They don't know what caused it and I don't know anything "new" that I have used so there is no way to determine what it was that made me break out.  It is on my legs, torso and arms.  It itches so badly it is insane, and it is making me insane.  I am on some steroids to hopefully get rid of it.  We shall see.  I was feeling better yesterday after the first dose but the second dose doesn't seem to be helping much.  I am still rather itchy.
Over the weekend hubby and I found an elliptical for me to use.  Although it is now sitting on our balcony and I can't use it (due to the rash), I can't wait to start up on it.  I am going to give it a couple of days and then (hopefully) my rash will be gone and I can get to steppin'.
Because of my wonderful rash, I was out sick from work on Monday and Tuesday so I didn't get much done on Ruh after my last update.  I will say that page 20 is almost complete though and then I will have completed my yearly goal through the HAED bulletin board.  I made a mid year goal to finish page 21 so hopefully I can get that done too.
My other HAED yearly goal is to finish 2 pages of a new start.  Storykeep Giraffe by Annya Kai which I am stitching for my co-worker K.  I finally started!!!  After getting my bobbins bobbinated, I finally started!  I am pleased that I have already finished 1 color on pages 1 & 2.  (I will be working 2 pages at a time).  So far I am loving the colors, even though I am currently only on the second color...
I leave you with a picture of my new Giraffe WIP, (Gir),  and my new elliptical (well, new to me).
Gir update from 8/10/15

My elliptical!
Happy Stitching!!!

August 6, 2015

So I am going to focus on the positive for this post and tell you all about our trip to Disneyland.  We just went over this past weekend and had a great time.  My hubby works for a company based down in Southern California.  Each year, they have a managers meeting and it is at Disneyland.  This year, we got a 2 day hopper pass and got to stay at the Grand California hotel inside the California Adventure side of the park.
The hotel was great and we found a few of the "hidden Mickey's" around the hotel.  I got to meet quite a few of his co-workers and their families.  It was a bit overwhelming, but we got through it just fine.  I really enjoyed meeting a few of them and hope to actually keep in touch with them.
Disneyland had so many people it was insane.  We have been there before in August, but this was far busier than before.  Most lines took around 45 minutes or longer.  Some were 85, (Cars ride, I am pointing my finger at you).  We finally went on Tower or Terror and omgoodness we all loved that ride.  We rode it 3 times I believe, so awesome.
I didn't take any pictures as I don't think I ever brought my phone into the parks.  DD and Hubby did though, but I haven't had them send me the pics yet.
We flew down and it was DD's first time flying.  She loved it and had no issues whatsoever.  She is still there with her girlfriend, they drive back up on Saturday.  She is having a great time and has sent me a few pics.  She finally got to meet Alice and she was super excited about it.
We flew home on Monday and went back to work on Tuesday.  That was hard to do, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do...
In stitchy news, I am moving right along on Ruh.  Page 20 is coming close to an end.  I am still loving working on him and enjoy the time that I get with him each day (M-F).  My goal for the year is to finish pages 17-20 and I am almost done with that.  My other goal is to finish 2 pages of a new start.  Guess I need to get on that.  I have been getting closer to starting my giraffes at home, but haven't gotten there quite yet.
I shall leave you with my page 20 update on Ruh.
Ruh, progress on page 20.
Have a wonderful day!

A couple of Questions

I know, 2 in 1 day....  what the heck is going on.
Well I remembered that I have a couple of questions, and figured I might as well ask.

  1. There is a blog that is doing kitties of the month, but I can't find it.  Does anyone have the blog site?
  2. My daughter is wanting a Zelda costume made for cons that we go to.  Would anyone out in the blog world be able to assist me with this?  I am not sure how we could go about it, but I would really like to get it done soon.  Here is a pic of what we are looking for.
Thank you for any help!

July 22, 2015

This is going to be a picture heavy post, so I apologize for that right off.
I know it has been awhile since I have been out here and for that I have no excuse other than - life.  It isn't always easy and it isn't always hard.  But it happens regardless.
Let us start at where I left off and get to the present shall we?
My dad passed away a few months ago.
Dad.

We are still handling everything from that.  My mom passed away 5 years ago on the 18th of this month.  It has not been the easiest thing.  My mom loved Iris's and my dad loved purple and of course Iris's.  So this is a snippet of his house.
Dads house
He painted the entire thing himself, all the way around.  And it is beautiful.  We will get back to the Iris part later in the timeline.
A bit of TX while we were there:
A view from where we stayed in TX.

On the Highway in TX driving home.
It was horrid weather while we were there, raining every day.  When we left to drive home, (yes we drove straight home), it was raining and had snowed the night prior.  The drive home was not great.  It took us about 29 hours I believe.  We didn't stop to sleep except for 1 hour.  We switched off driving, 2 in each vehicle.  I can tell you right now, I will NEVER do that again.
We had made plans to go to Wonder-Con about a year ago, so we went.  It was kind of nice to get my mind off of everything that was going on.  Here are a few pics of the Con.
DD dressed as Pearl from Steven Universe.

DD with someone dressed as the Dr.

DD dressed as Noodle from the Gorillaz.
We had a great time and plan on going next year as well.  There were a lot of people and so many dressed up.  I would show you more, but oh my, I have a LOT of pictures.
While we were in the area, we went to Medieval Times.  If you haven't been, it is a great experience and they have them in a few areas throughout the US.  We went with friends who we have known for quite awhile.  DD's bff (that we went with), was given a flower by the knight we were routing for and DD was made Queen of the Tournament.  It was great fun had by all.
DD after getting the Queen of the Tournament sash from the Red Knight.

The Red Knight!

DD's bff got a flower from the Red Knight.
Again, I have so many pictures, but since this is a picture heavy post to begin with, I will just bore you with a few.  :)
Next was a company trip on a Hornblower cruise ship.  We had a great 3 hour trip on a tour of the SF bay.  Here are a few pics:

A view of the Port.

The CS team.

A view of Alcatraz.
My bff had asked me a few months prior if I wanted to go to a Kenny Chesney & Jason Aldean concert.  I am not a big country fan, but I do enjoy some.  So, we went to the first concert held at the new Levi Stadium in Santa Clara.  It was a great show and I had a wonderful time.  Here are a few pics:  (Oh and Jason Aldean - YUM!)
Jason Aldean - super yummy

Kenny Chesney

A bit of the crowd.

Jake Owen
Work had a "thank goodness the auditors are gone and we ended the year" getaway for a few departments.  We got to go to see an A's game.  Here are a couple pics.
Just win Baby!

It's baseball.
I am not a big baseball fan... I know, I know.

Next up was the Ren Fair in Lake Tahoe.  Hubby, DD and I went for the weekend.  It was a great time.  I didn't get many pictures inside as I don't like to be that out of character, but here is a picture of the three of us that the lovely lady at our hotel took of us.  Also a picture from the hotel we stayed at.
Lake Tahoe

Me, Hubby and DD
Then we got to go to see DD's bff, (the one we went to Wonder-Con with), graduate high school.  She is on to college this coming fall.  We are so very proud of her.
Getting the diploma.

She is so beautiful.
Going back to the Iris's.  In honor of my mom and dad, I am in the process of having one of my tattoos covered up.  Here is the picture of before/after my first session.  4 1/2 hours in the chair.
From thumper to Iris's.
I have more done now, but I don't have an updated picture yet.  I will make sure to post one soon.  My next appointment, (should be the last), is at the end of August.  So far I love it!

A bit more on what is going on right now.  DD is taking a class 4 times a week with her bff, (not the one above), for art over the summer.  Here are a few of the things she has done.
Beach scene.

Starry Night

Steven Universe Shoes (she didn't have room for Steven).

Flowers in a vase.

Angel kitty!
These are just some of the things they have done in the class.  She has 5 more classes left and she is really enjoying them.

Now, for what you probably came here for, my stitchy update on Ruh.  He is coming along nicely.  Page 20 is being worked on and getting done color by color.  Here is pages 1-19 complete.
Isn't he amazing?
Alrighty, I think that is it.  We have more fun adventures coming up shortly so I will share those with you after they happen.  It's been an interesting year, good and bad.

Oh!  One more thing I almost forgot!  I got my promotion at work and I am now lead in my group!

Thanks for reading/looking.  I hope you all have a great day.
