December 29, 2014 Update

So this is actually from the 18th, but here is page 16 finished.

Oh, I just adore him.  I will be doing pages 17 & 18 together.  I have already gridded it out and started working on it.

So how's everyone doing?  If you celebrate Christmas, how was it?

We travel to a few places on Christmas day, so we only open 1 present in the morning and then we open the remaining ones when we return home at night.  We have been doing it for awhile and it seems to work rather well.  (We didn't do it last year and I didn't care for it).  First stop was my sisters house.  We exchanged gifts and talked for a bit and then headed out to MIL's house.  We were there for about 2 hours and then followed them to my hubby's uncles house where we have dinner and participate in a gift exchange.  We had a great time and I met a new friend.  She cross stitches and we spent a good bit of time talking about what we have done and what we enjoy doing.  We are hoping to get together every once in awhile to stitch and I am looking forward to it!
We got home around 8 at night and then opened our gifts.  Dearest Daughter received Copic markers.  Holy crap those things are expensive...  That was her big gift.  She got a lot of clothes and some other odds and ends.
Hubby got a new mic for streaming on twitch and gaming.  He actually got an IOU since they are out of stock right now (brand new), but he will get it as soon as it is out.  He also got some clothing.
I received SOA seasons 1-6 and will be shipped season 7 as soon as it comes out.  I got the collectors edition and it is really nice.  I also got this:
It is a Pandora bracelet and I am in love with it.  I almost cried when I opened it.  There are 2 of the ones on the right as they are clips.  I also have a safety chain on the other side that you can't see.  I love love love it!
Anywho, nothing else is really going on.  Hubby's foot is all better.  No more swelling and no more bruising.  It took awhile, but it looks much better and it isn't hurting him anymore either.
What are your plans for new years?

Have a fabulous day everyone!

December 10, 2014 Update

I am so close to another page finish!

Sorry I have been missing for a couple of weeks.  I was on vacation the week of Thanksgiving.  How was your Thanksgiving?  Did you spend it alone, with family, did you travel?  We go to one of my sisters houses for Thanksgiving every year.  I make cheesy potatoes and she makes everything else.  This year, there were only 8 of us.  It was very nice and cozy.  I came down with a cold on the day before and wasn't feeling all that great on  Thanksgiving.  But I took a nap after making the cheesy potatoes and felt good enough to go over.  Glad I did to, it was a great day.
The Saturday after, I made our second Thanksgiving at our house.  I make a few things that my sister doesn't make, so it is a little different meal that what we had at her place.  Plus then I get left overs!
Last week was just all messed up.  I worked Monday and Tuesday and then on Wednesday I was awoken to my daughter coming into my room at 5:05 am saying "Dad needs you, something is wrong".  Okay, so that's not good.  He gets up at 4:00 am to get ready and leaves somewhere between 4:45 and 5:00.  Well, he left at right before 5:00 and got to the bottom of our stairs.  It was pouring down rain and he noticed that the water looked pretty deep.  He took a step down and the water was almost up to his ankle.  He took about 4 big steps and caught the edge of the concrete walkway where it meets the dirt.  (About an inch and a half to two inches drop).  He twisted his ankle and fell.  He then basically crawled up the stairs and rang the doorbell and knocked until our daughter opened the front door.  When I got out to him, he was standing in the door frame with his right foot up in the air, holding onto the door jam for support and he was drenched in water.  Not a good thing to wake up to at 5 in the morning.
I told our daughter to go back to bed and then got him undressed on the porch.  I got him a towel and then helped him into the house so he could sit and elevate his foot and we could get a look at it.  Oh... it wasn't good.  Of course at that time, we didn't know what he had done to it, but it looked like he had put a tennis ball underneath his skin on the outside of his ankle.  Immediate swelling.  Here is a pic of it:
See?  Not pretty.  So we went to Urgent Care a little later in the morning.  (After I took daughter to school). and they said that he had twisted his ankle.  Ice, elevate and stay off of it.  They also didn't want him driving. So, he was off work for the remainder of the week.  Two days ago, it looked like this:

The swelling has gone down quite a bit, but still isn't gone.  The bruising however is horrid.  It goes around his foot and his toes are even bruised.  We are still watching it daily now that he is back to work.  Bleh.  Enough on that!
Over the last weekend of November, I took dearest daughter in to get her hair done.  Here she is with her new doo.
Beautiful!!!
Then on December 2nd, she got her braces off!  She was so happy to get them off.  2 years was too long for her.  She now has invisiline which she will wear all the time (except for when she eats), for 6 months.  They will then evaluate and hopefully at that point, she will only have to wear them at night.  She doesn't mind them, since she has now gotten used to them.  However, she said she will be happy when she only has to wear them at night.
Then this past weekend, actually on Friday the 5th, we took her to get her lip pierced.  It looks pretty good on her, but she is already looking forward to getting the smaller bar as she didn't really swell and the longer bar is bothering her a bit.  The first couple of days, she couldn't chew much, so she was eating a very small amount of food over a very large amount of time.  She has gotten better though and it doesn't bother her as much.
Okay, now on to the stitching.  Because I was out for almost 2 weeks, not much happened on Ruh, but here he is as of Monday the 8th.
So close to a page finish.  I think I will be working on him again today at lunch, as I am not tired enough to nap.
I can't think of anything else right now, so that's it for this weeks update.

Have a good one!

November 13, 2014 Update

I was out on vacation Monday, then sick Tuesday and Wednesday.  So, here is the weekly update on Unleashed:
Look at that face!  Coming along quite well I think.  I am really enjoying the weekly updates and seeing the differences.  Although I don't feel like I am doing a lot, I guess I am.  :)

My bunches had his 40th on Saturday.  I made him waffles for breakfast, which he didn't know I was going to do.  We had to run an errand, so we ended up buying him the nice backpack he wanted.  (For computer usage), and then went and purchased him a new desk chair.  The chair just arrived yesterday and I'm sure that he will be putting it together this coming weekend.
He has been working so much lately, I'm sure he will be glad when his co-worker returns.  But I kind of hope that he stays in San Diego and my hubby gets SF.  He is doing a great job, but the hours and pay need to be much better.  A two hour commute home is not ideal.

Not much else.  Have a great week!!

11/3/14 Weekly Update

Here is my update for the week.  Got a bit done during the last week.  This is from yesterday (Monday) after lunch.  I will be working on him again today.  Not sure on the remainder of the week though.
I work 5:00 to 4:30 the rest of the week, so I may be taking naps during lunch.  I will probably work on him tomorrow but not so sure about Thursday and Friday.
Hubby's birthday is this weekend and he is turning the big 40!  We don't really have anything planned.  I need to let him know that he needs to pick what he wants for dinner that night though.  If I cook or we go out, I don't care.  It's his birthday!!
Not much else is going on.  Oh!  For Jo who can't think of a clever nicknamethis is what a flag girl is:
Also called color guard.  These aren't my daughters school colors (or anyone I know for that matter), but it gives you an idea.  They are usually doing routines to the band music in parades and such.
Daughter dressed up as Harley Quinn for Halloween.
And I dressed up as a scarecrow.
That's it for now.  Thank you for reading/looking and have a great week!

Week of 10/27/14 Update

From last week to yesterday, I have done quite a bit actually.  More than I thought I had!
Not sure if I will work on him today or not.  I am leaving early and I don't know if I am taking a lunch yet or not.  Hmm.  I guess it will depend on how busy work is, and by the way it is right now, I will be taking a lunch!
My hubby has put his resume in for a new job, and I am hoping that he gets it.  It would mean less commute time for him, (20 minutes instead of 45 min - 2 hours), and no bridges.  It would be about the same price range but the gas and toll costs would go down dramatically.
Dearest Daughter had her first flag show during the half time game at her school this past weekend.  She did great.  She is now being taught all routines so that she is ready to go for the next show.  From what she told me yesterday, when they were teaching her, they told her that she was doing really well and that she was a quick learner.  (I think it runs in the genes)!  I was a flag girl and then went to front banner.  I loved the 3 years I did.  She is loving it so far too!
Not much else is going on.  Been rather slow on the house hunting.

Have a great week!

My Weekly Update

I will try to get these on here on Mondays, but sometimes, that just won't happen.
My stitching was horrid last week as I only worked on it 2 days.  So far this week, I have done both days and plan on stitching at lunch today.  This pic is from Monday after lunch.
I just finished filling in the open space in between the browns yesterday and will be starting another color today.  As you can see, I work one color for the whole page and then move to the next.
I tried parking once on another chart and it didn't work well for me.  However I think it might have something to do with confetti.  I haven't really tried it when the area is confetti heavy.  I might have to do that and see if there is a difference.  I mean, I never thought I would grid and now I can't see myself not gridding. :)
What else?  Hmm.  CA is in a serious drought and although it rained a day or so ago, it was only enough to wet the roads.  We need some major rain!  Do the rain dance for us if you can, we need it badly.
Speaking of, my daughter has an art project that is due tomorrow.  She has to make and draw a super hero. Hers?  Rain Man - He can make it rain whenever he wants.  Why did she choose this?  Because we need rain!  I love her, she is so amazing.
We are still looking for a house, haven't found one yet.  The one we put an offer on was taken off the market, so I don't know what is going on with that.  One popped up this morning, so we will probably go look at it soon.
Not much else to report on.  I hope you all have an amazing rest of the week and a fantabulous weekend!

A Couple Days Late Update

Page 16 being worked on.  This is after lunch on Friday.  As you can see, he is peeking at me while I stitch on him.  :)
I was out yesterday on a mini vacation.  Had quite a few things to do around the house and I was trying to get myself and my daughters achievements done in WoW.  It was a good and productive day!

There is a chance of rain this week and I am really hoping for it.  Please keep your fingers crossed as we seriously need any we can get.

Have a great week everyone!

Update on Ruh - Page Finish

I finished page 15 and he is so handsome!
That is just page 15, and I love how detailed it is.  Working on page 16 now and he is staring at me while I stitch him.  (I love it)!
And here he is with pages 1 thru 15 done.  He is just jumping right off of the fabric.  I really do enjoy working on him.  To think that I only work on him an hour a day at work on an average of 3 days a week is amazing to me.  I have gotten a lot done in those small windows of time.
Page 16 is gridded and started already.  I think I am going to start doing weekly updates on him now, as I love seeing him develop more and more.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Random Update

Here he is, in all of his glory:
So close to another page finish, but not quite yet.  He is so handsome, and scary!  I love the eyes and the detailing is just amazing.
With no back stitching done on the HAED charts, it amazes me how they can do that.  Fine work!  Kuddos to Michele and her team!

Other than that, we didn't get the house we put the offer on.  They never even answered us...  We were then told that the realtor has a bad name in the business.  Not a good thing.  Guess we didn't want that one after all...  (but I did and still do).
On to bigger and better things right?  We will keep looking.

Daughter is doing good in school.  She has decided she wants 7 classes instead of 6, so her schedule will be changing shortly.

Have a great weekend everyone!

The end of Summer

She is now in high school, where has the time gone?
I mean seriously, where has it gone?  Just the other day I was dropping her off for her first day at first grade.  She is her own person and has her own sense of style, as you can see.  Her hair never stays the same, which I think her hair stylist likes.

My hubby and I just celebrated out 18 year wedding anniversary.  <3
We had a great weekend and didn't really do much.  (We had gone to Disneyland and Universal Studios the weekend before).

Dearest Daughter went to Oregon with her friend a week before school started, she had a great time stopping along the highway to dip her toes into the ocean every once in awhile.  They had a great time.  She got me this:
I love it!  And I am wearing it today.

Ruh is coming along nicely.  I am getting very close to finishing this page I am working on.  Once we move (still house hunting), I will start working on my UFO for my daughter and then start a new one for my co-worker.  I am looking forward to it!

Oh!  I almost forgot.  We had an earthquake here early Sunday morning.  Rocked us pretty good.  No damage in the apartment that we could find, I believe they are doing a once over to make sure there were no damages as well.
My sister however did have some frames fall off the wall and break.  She also had a vase break that was our moms.  It upset me quite a bit as I know it also upset her.  She lives very close to where the quake hit so felt it much more than we did.  Her town suffered millions of dollars worth of damage, and some buildings have been red tagged.  Scary! But I will still take earthquakes over tornadoes or hurricanes any day!

Okay, that's it for now.  Have a groovy day all!
Till laters,

Been Awhile

Wow, the last time I posted was in March?  Holy cow.  Time flies when you are having fun!
So I have updates on Unleashed.  Here is page 13 and 14 finished:
And here he is now on page 15, (not done yet).
Isn't he handsome?  I just had to post an update.  I just love seeing him come to life in front of me.

I haven't been working on any other stitching except him.  I don't want to be stitching at home right now as I don't really have the space to do anything in.  We are trying to find a house now, so keep your fingers crossed for us please.  We have already been approved, but now we are just waiting for "the house". It has been an interesting journey so far.

Let's see, what else?  Hrm.  Dearest daughter starts high school in a few weeks.  I am not ready... but I am sure she is.

Hubby is working and doing good.  He enjoys his job but not the majority of the people he works with.  (I think everyone has someone they work with that they don't like).  He just has a few more than that...

That's all I can think of right now.  Gonna go try to catch up on some blogs I haven't read in forever...  sorry about that!!

Take care and happy stitching!

Updates on life and stitching!

Sorry I have been MIA.  Not a lot of stitching going on, but many other things have been happening.

In no particular order:
My hubby graduated college and now has 2 degrees!
He started his new job in early February and is loving it.  I am so proud of him!!  <3
Because he got a new job, we had to get another car as he needs one for work.
My wonderful daughter turned 14!
She dressed up as Alice and had a cake to match!
Then she got this amazing framed picture.
One of her gifts from her dad and I was to get her hair re-done.  Isn't she beautiful?  I know I am biased, so yeah, she is!
Random kitty pics.

 Oreo is a bit mental...
We signed up for nomoretogo.com.  It is a great site that gives you dinner recipes for a week with a grocery list.  It has cut our grocery bill in half for the month.  I am loving all of the different things we are trying.  Here is a teaser of one we cooked this past week.  YUM!
I had a night out with the girls.  It was a great afternoon.  I am on the right.

And last but not least, I finished page 13 of Ruh this afternoon.  He now has a hand.

And here are pages 1 thru 13 completed.  (Sorry for the wrinkles).

Until next time.  Hopefully it won't be as long!
